Celebrate Mardi Gras and your last-ditch lunge at decadence before the start of Lent on Ash Wednesday. Día de San Patricio ~ Saint Patrick’s Day

¿What do you get when you cross a flamboyant Cuban chica and a strapping Irish lad? Chef Connell-Maribona colors the Pambiche menu green with his Cuban mother’s interpretations of his Irish dad’s favorite Celtic gobbles. El Día de San Patricio is the perfect opportunity to celebrate our family’s Cuban-Irish cross-cultural heritage. Enjoy Chef Connell-Maribona’s Día de San Patricio specials for a Celtic celebration like none other. Menu specials are available during the week of Saint Patrick’s Day, March 17th.

Día del Trabajo ~ May Day

May Day is a commemoration of the execution of the Haymarket martyrs who were arrested after the Haymarket Riot of 1886 in Chicago, Illinois, which occurred on May 4 but was the culmination of labor unrest that had begun on May 1. Consequently, May Day became established as an anarchist and socialist holiday, and in this form, May Day has become an international celebration of the social and economic achievements of the working class and labor movement.

Día de las Madres ~ Mother’s Day

El día de las Madres in Cuba is celebrated much like it is here in the U.S. A day dedicated to the matriarch of the family when relatives gather together to cherish their mothers. One Cuban tradition honors mothers by their children wearing a flower on mother’s day. If your mother is living then you would wear a red flower, if your mother has passed on then you would wear a white flower in her memory. Día de la Raza ~ Columbus Day

A controversial celebration bound to generate interesting conversation over café cubano or a spot of Spanish sherry. Known also as Discovery Day in The Bahamas, Hispanic Day in Spain, Día de las Culturas in Costa Rica and Día de la Resistencia Indígena in Venezuela, etc. No matter what your opinion of the day is we recognize Columbus Day as the beginning of creolization, which is what Cuba and Cuban culture is.
So come down to Pambiche Monday October 13th, 2008 and get a bowl of Ajiaco in honor of creole culture!! ¡Que viva la raza!!!

Día de los Muertos

Check out the Pambiche staff in their Halloween costumes!!!!! Bring the little ones down for a trick or a Cuban treat!!! Halloween begins three days of consecutive holidays, as it is followed by All Saints’ Day, which also marks the beginning of the two-day celebration of the Day of the Dead or el Día de los Muertos. October 31st, November 1st and November 2nd. Celebrate your ancestors!

Pambiche will be closed for maintenance Monday November 19th thru Thursday November 22nd. We will re-open Friday November 23rd at 5 pm for dinner service. Sorry for any inconvenience.
